Staff Software Engineer (Cloud/Backend)

Its Krakow engineering center partners with D-Fend Solutions, a leader in cyber-takeover counter-drone technology, to drive technological transformation by moving a critical configuration application to the Cloud. The role contributes to advanced software-defined airspace security solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong capability to drive strategic technical decisions in dynamic environments.
• Expert knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript, including frameworks like NestJS or Express.
• Strong experience designing and building event-driven microservices on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with modern cloud observability patterns such as metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL), in-memory caching with Redis, and containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical or strong willingness to work with React to deliver end-to-end features.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK or Serverless Framework.
• Experience with GenAI developer-assisting tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and mutual TLS (mTLS).
• Experience with time-series telemetry pipelines and long-term storage tiering.
• Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
• Proven track record in contributing to system architecture, high-level design choices, and solving complex distributed systems problems.

• Drive the design, building, and running of multi-tenant SaaS applications using cloud-native architecture.
• Architect and build high-throughput backend services and distributed systems ensuring seamless data flow across Cloud, On-Premise, and Edge layers.
• Write scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code maintaining engineering standards and system design practices.
• Take full ownership of features from technical design through backend coding to automated deployment and production monitoring.
• Collaborate with senior engineers across MSI and D-Fend to share expertise, unblock technical challenges, and accelerate delivery.
