Staff Engineer (100% Remote within Poland)

The engineering team comprises over 300 members working on product development for all locations, responsible for building and evolving the patient-facing healthcare product.

• Proven leadership in setting technical direction across multiple teams with production impact.
• Experience dismantling large legacy systems while maintaining real traffic, knowledgeable in strangler pattern, anti-corruption layers, data migration, and dual-write challenges.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and backend architecture, comfortable working in polyglot environments.
• Hands-on experience using AI to accelerate software development with good judgment on its application.
• Ability to direct AI agents for code writing while maintaining design, correctness, and security.
• Passion for mentoring and raising engineering standards.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with two-sided marketplaces, search and discovery, or booking and scheduling systems.
• Experience with large-scale monorepos, including build tooling and code ownership conventions.
• Experience exposing product capabilities to AI agents.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated domains where data privacy and security influence architecture.

Own the Technical Direction of the Marketplace:

• Be accountable for the Marketplace architecture across search, listings, doctors' profiles, and booking flow.
• Shape the migration from the monolith to the monorepo using strangler pattern, anti-corruption layers, shadow traffic, and staged source-of-truth flips.
• Migrate domains from proxy layers to native ownership in the monorepo, including data, business logic, and persistence.
• Design Marketplace capabilities as reusable building blocks with clear contracts for integration.

Lead Through AI-Native Engineering:

• Direct AI coding agents like Claude Code to prototype and ship production changes.
• Drive AI-assisted development for migration, contract generation, and parity maintenance.
• Enable Marketplace capabilities to be used by both AI agents and humans.

Multiply the Teams Around You:

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Managers to unblock cross-team work.
• Mentor senior engineers on architecture and system design.
• Contribute to the Staff+ community to maintain technical standards across areas.
