Senior Engineering Manager – Payments (100% Remote within Poland)

The company employs over 2,500 people globally with a diverse Engineering, Data, and Product team of over 300 members, responsible for building product solutions across all locations.

• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 4 years leading engineering teams in product companies, covering hiring, growth, and performance management.
• Proven track record of growing engineers and handling difficult performance situations.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to speed up coding, reviewing, and refactoring with good judgment.
• Founder mindset with ability to rapidly move from idea to experiment, validate with real users, and pivot based on evidence.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, try new approaches, and guide the team through uncertainty.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience in payments or fintech sectors, including PSPs, reconciliation, or compliance.
• Experience working at scale with focus on meaningful user outcomes rather than company size.

• Own performance management for your team: set clear expectations, give regular feedback, conduct reviews and calibrations, and address underperformance early.
• Build individual growth plans, provide coaching through pairing and code reviews, create stretch opportunities, and develop future senior engineers and tech leads.
• Collaborate with Product Manager and Design to decide priorities between foundational work and fast experiments, pivoting based on user feedback.
• Stay hands-on by directly implementing features and architectural changes in the codebase.
• Maintain AI-native practices and keep quality high while reducing operational burden as delivery accelerates.
• Track and communicate impact using concrete metrics, including delivery speed, quality, team engagement, and product outcomes.
