Senior Full Stack Software Developer - Observability

Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables organizations to find answers in real time using data at scale through its cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability, leveraging AI to enhance business outcomes. Their platform is used by over 50% of the Fortune 500. The role is within the Streams UI team working on Fleet, the central management experience for Elastic Agent in Kibana, and Streams, a tool for log data management including ingestion, parsing, enrichment, and retention.

• Solid production experience with full-stack JavaScript, preferably TypeScript; React on frontend and Node.js on backend.
• Track record of leading non-trivial projects end-to-end with real design ownership.
• Strong architecture and system design judgment, especially in large existing codebases.
• Experience designing and launching UI components that increased user engagement.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for feature development and code improvement.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with enthusiasm for asynchronous collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Design and implement intuitive UI components using TypeScript, React, and Node.js to enhance user engagement.
• Integrate front-end elements with back-end services to ensure smooth user experience.

• Own complex, loosely-defined problems end-to-end, including technical decisions and delivery.
• Lead architecture and system design discussions considering trade-offs, performance, scale, and backward compatibility.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, promote reusable components, and implement automated testing and deployment.
• Conduct thorough code reviews focusing on standards adherence, security vulnerabilities, and code readability.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a fully distributed team via GitHub and Slack.
• Partner with designers and product managers to translate mockups into functional UI components and ensure visual design consistency.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for UI enhancements.
