Senior System & Network Engineer

CloudFerro builds technology used by leading European organisations in science and the space sector, including ESA, EUMETSAT, ECMWF, Mercator Ocean International, DLR, and EGI. The company supports Earth Observation systems that aid research, climate analysis, and understanding of the planet. The role involves working in modern infrastructure and large-scale environments with real ownership and growth opportunities.

• Hands-on experience with Junos, NVIDIA Cumulus Linux, VyOS, or similar Network Operating Systems.
• Solid understanding of the TCP/IP networking stack.
• Good knowledge of routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
• Strong Linux skills, especially in networking.
• Familiarity with DNS technologies, particularly BIND and/or PowerDNS.
• Confidence communicating in English, both spoken and written.

Nice to have:

• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN, particularly in NVIDIA Cumulus Linux and/or SONiC environments.
• Knowledge of network security including firewalls, VPNs, access control, and network segmentation.
• Understanding of networking in OpenStack and/or Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with networking hardware vendors and ability to evaluate and select appropriate technical solutions.
• Experience with SONiC or other Network Operating Systems.

• Designing, deploying, and maintaining physical network infrastructure with a focus on Juniper, NVIDIA/Mellanox, and other networking platforms.
• Configuring and administering Linux-based systems including VyOS and OPNsense.
• Automating operational and administrative tasks using Ansible and Python.
• Troubleshooting network and performance issues across complex environments.
• Handling incidents and technical issues as part of second-line support.
