Product Manager - Developer Experience

IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4 million customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions. The role is within the Infrastructure & Operations division, focusing on core engineering platforms that underpin software delivery, reliability, observability, cloud and infrastructure, and operational services.

• Proven product management experience owning the end-to-end lifecycle for technical products related to platform engineering, developer tooling, DevOps, or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with IDP concepts and tooling such as Backstage or Port.
• Strong technical understanding of modern software development, cloud, DevOps, APIs, and software development cycle.
• Ability to credibly engage with engineers on architecture and platform design without coding.
• Experience building platforms as products, establishing roadmaps, and driving early adoption.
• Skilled in bridging platform builders and users, translating developer needs into actionable product decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management aligning engineers, architects, and senior leaders.
• Comfortable working with data to define success metrics and prioritize effectively.

• Define and own product strategy from inception, determining platform features and evolution.
• Build and maintain a prioritized product roadmap based on developer needs and organizational priorities.
• Establish success metrics such as adoption rates and developer productivity improvements.
• Conduct structured discovery with engineering teams to understand pain points across CI/CD, observability, cloud, and tooling.
• Partner with platform engineers and DevOps teams to balance user demand and technical feasibility.
• Engage senior engineering and technology leadership for alignment and investment.
• Drive delivery by writing clear requirements, managing trade-offs, and unblocking progress.
• Own the adoption strategy to onboard teams and embed the platform into developer workflows.
• Monitor platform performance and feedback post-launch, iterating to improve quality and capabilities.
