Modernization Engineer/FDE

Kyndryl manages critical technology systems, including 50% of the world's MIPS, focusing on mainframe modernization with a global community of experts.

• Architectural experience in large customer change and transformation projects.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of hardware and software, including connectivity between platforms.

Preferred:

• The Open Group - Master Certified Architect (or equivalent).
• Prior hands-on experience in a mainframe environment.
• Experience in mainframe projects involving Modernize On, Integrate With, and Move Off.
• Strong understanding of z/OS and IBM Software Products as well as third-party mainframe software.

• Define, assess, and prioritize modernization roadmaps considering cost and risk.
• Design innovative software frameworks, systems, and products.
• Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
• Identify and resolve framework design weaknesses.
• Provide technical leadership to application development teams.
• Perform design and code reviews.
• Maintain uniform enterprise-wide application design standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture with business requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for software architecture, design processes, component integration, and testing guidelines.
