Software Engineer (C++), Authentication Team - Splunk

The Platform Identity team builds a centralized Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform that is scalable, resilient, and intelligent, enabling secure access across Splunk and Cisco ecosystems. The team collaborates across product, security, and infrastructure to unify identity across the portfolio.

• Significant professional experience delivering scalable, production-grade software services.
• Hands-on expertise with identity protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and OAuth 2.0.
• Experience designing and implementing authorization models (RBAC, ABAC).
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Go.
• Experience building secure, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience applying AI/ML techniques in the identity, security, or platform engineering space.
• Familiarity with cloud provider IAM services (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud Identity).
• Knowledge of directory services such as LDAP or Active Directory.
• Contributions to open-source IAM projects or communities.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to partner with product, security, and engineering teams.

• Design, build, and operate core identity services for authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management across Splunk and Cisco products.
• Architect scalable and secure APIs.
• Unify identity systems across the portfolio.
• Act as a subject matter expert on modern identity protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with product, security, and infrastructure teams to ship impactful solutions.
• Explore AI/ML opportunities to increase automation and enhance identity protection.
