Write production-quality test harnesses, device simulators, performance tools, and mocks for IoT device behavior and video streams.
Build tooling to improve testability across distributed, event-driven components such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and Kinesis.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and optimize feedback on builds and deployments.
Evaluate and introduce tools, frameworks, and approaches for scalable test infrastructure.

Engineering collaboration and architecture:

Participate in design sessions, RFCs, and architecture discussions, advocating for testability, observability, and reliability.
Review code and pull requests for correctness, edge cases, performance, and maintainability.
Work with backend and frontend engineers to understand system design and build automation reflecting production behavior.
Support monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting, including device connectivity issues.

Test strategy and coverage:

Design test plans and strategies, deciding where automation adds value versus targeted manual and exploratory testing.
Drive test coverage for IoT device configuration, monitoring, deployment, and connectivity workflows, as well as video playback, recording, and streaming features.
Validate distributed cloud systems for correctness, performance, and resilience under realistic and edge-case load.
Own test estimation and planning during sprint and release cycles with engineering leads.
