Podsumowanie oferty

As a Senior Database Administrator in the Advanced Analytics Team, you will own database health, reliability, and the lifecycle of database artifacts across production AI systems. You will manage PostgreSQL operations on Azure and deliver versioned database changes through CI/CD pipelines.

Wymagania

6+ years of professional DBA experience with PostgreSQL as the primary platform, including deep operational knowledge in production environments.
Experience managing database artifacts as code, with version control, automated testing, and pipeline-driven delivery.
Hands-on experience with schema migration tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, sqitch, or equivalent, including branching strategies, baseline management, and rollback patterns.
Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, including MVCC, WAL, autovacuum, locking behavior, the query planner, index types (B-tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN), and connection management.
Experience with PostgreSQL high availability and replication, including streaming replication, Patroni or equivalent HA tooling, logical replication, and failover procedures.
Production experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL, including Flexible Server, HA configuration, PITR, read replicas, and Azure Monitor integration.
Proficiency in Python or Bash for database automation, maintenance scripts, migration utilities, audit tooling, and CI/CD integration.
Experience with database delivery CI/CD pipelines, integrating migration tooling into GitHub Actions or equivalent, with environment promotion and rollback gates.
Strong understanding of database security, including RBAC, RLS, secrets management with Azure Key Vault, encryption at rest and in transit, and audit trail requirements.
Hands-on proficiency with Claude Code, using it daily for migration script authoring, query review, documentation generation, and operational automation.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain database constraints and risks clearly to Backend Engineers, Data Engineers, and product stakeholders.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of dbt (data build tool) and experience with data transformation workflows.

Obowiązki

Database lifecycle and delivery:

Version-control database objects, including schemas, migrations, stored procedures, functions, views, and roles, and manage their delivery through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, or sqitch.
Build and operate database CI/CD pipelines with DevOps, including automated migration testing, schema validation, rollback strategies, and promotion between environments.
Define and enforce database change management standards, including peer review of migration scripts, naming conventions, anti-pattern detection, and pre-production validation gates.

Data engineering:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake, and optimize data processing workflows for performance, reliability, and data quality.

Database performance and reliability:

Monitor and optimize database performance through query analysis with EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE, index tuning, vacuum and autovacuum configuration, connection pool management with PgBouncer, and long-running query governance.
Own backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery (PITR), WAL archiving, replication configuration, and regular recovery testing.
Operate and manage PostgreSQL on Azure, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server configuration, high availability, read replicas, scaling, and cost governance.
Manage database observability, including dashboards and alerts for query performance, replication lag, connection saturation, bloat, and storage growth using Azure Monitor, pg_stat_* views, and Grafana.

Security and support:

Manage database security and access control, including RBAC, row-level security (RLS), audit logging, secrets rotation via Azure Key Vault, and compliance with data protection policies.
Support Data Engineers and Backend Engineers with database design guidance, query optimization advice, and hands-on troubleshooting of data access bottlenecks.
Use Claude Code daily to write and review migration scripts, generate documentation, automate database maintenance tasks, and accelerate troubleshooting.
