Podsumowanie oferty

You will build and operate Edge, Zyte’s residential network platform that turns devices into infrastructure for web data extraction. The role focuses on scaling its data plane and building a fleet control plane, using Rust and networking technologies such as mTLS gRPC.

Wymagania

5+ years of production Rust experience, shipping and operating services end to end.
Experience designing and running schedulers, control planes or stateful services at scale; ability to reason about consistency, partitions, backpressure and idempotency.
Deep networking knowledge: TCP, TLS and HTTP at handshake and packet level, gRPC and long-lived connections across NAT and lossy links.
Experience building or operating forward proxies, proxy gateways or residential/ISP proxy infrastructure; understanding of IP reputation, session stickiness and pool health.
Operations and reliability experience, including SLOs and error budgets, building observability, leading production incidents and being on call.
Comfortable with Rust on Windows, Linux and Android targets, and with FFI boundaries.
Strong written communication for a globally distributed, remote-first environment.
Nice to have:
- Experience shipping Rust on Android, Windows or macOS, or binding Rust to C/C++ via FFI.
- Experience with reconcilers, rollout controllers, IoT or volunteer-computing fleets.
- Understanding of how TLS, HTTP and IP signals are used to classify traffic.
- Familiarity with the technical challenges of large-scale web data extraction.
- Contributions to Rust, networking or distributed-systems open-source projects.

Obowiązki

Scale CNC into a horizontally scalable fetch scheduler, with node selection that respects geo-routing, site cooldowns, jail and per-peer quotas while avoiding detectable patterns.
Build the Fleet Manager control plane, including provider adapters, a reconciler, a rollout controller and an exporter to BigQuery.
Operate and improve the CONNECT proxy gateway and edge session handling; work with the API squad on IP reputation, proxy leases and request scheduling.
Engineer mTLS gRPC communications between the control plane and peers, long-poll and streaming semantics over unreliable residential links, NAT and carrier-grade NAT behaviour, and bandwidth accounting under contention.
Define SLOs for Edge route availability, success and latency; build metrics for peer count, drop-off and bandwidth; run blue/green rollouts of CNC and peers.
Take part in the squad’s on-call rotation, lead incident post-mortems and turn operational lessons into platform improvements.
Write RFDs for scheduling, fleet management and failover; review squad designs and apply distributed-systems rigour around consistency, backpressure, idempotency and blast radius.

Benefity

Attend conferences and meet with team members from across the globe.
Flexible working hours.
