Podsumowanie oferty

Design and run resilient, highly available database platforms for a trading platform as part of the Infrastructure Platform Team. Automate database operations and keep latency within SLO using PostgreSQL, AWS RDS and Aurora, and infrastructure tools including Terraform and Ansible.

Wymagania

Deep production experience with PostgreSQL, including running it at scale and understanding MVCC, vacuum and bloat, locking, physical and logical replication, and query planning through real incidents.
Use infrastructure as code as the normal way of working; keep work in version control and have it reviewed before application.
Use CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and database changes, including schema migrations.
5+ years running production databases as a DBRE, SRE, platform or database engineer, ideally with substantial experience on AWS RDS or Aurora.
Experience designing high availability and disaster recovery, including replication, automated failover, multi-region or multi-cloud redundancy, and trade-offs between RTO, RPO and cost.
A track record of zero-downtime changes, such as online migrations, major version upgrades or moving data between clusters.
Understand application use of databases, including connection pools, ORMs (for example Hibernate), transaction scope, retries, idempotency and safe deployment order.
Observability skills, including defining what to measure, alerting on SLOs and verifying changes with data.
Scripting experience with Python, Bash or Go to automate operational work.
Comfort working in a regulated financial services environment with access control, encryption and audit trails.
Clear communication, ownership of outcomes and ability to partner with developers.

Nice to have:

Terraform and Ansible experience.
Production experience with MySQL.
Experience with Redshift, ClickHouse or DynamoDB.
Experience with logical replication or CDC tools such as pglogical, AWS DMS or Debezium.
Experience with Kubernetes and running Java services in production.
Linux performance tuning and troubleshooting on self-managed database hosts.
Experience with Vault or another secrets manager.

Obowiązki

Design and run highly available PostgreSQL across zones and regions, with tested automated failover and protection against split-brain.
Define database infrastructure as code, including clusters, parameters, networking, access, monitoring and backups; review changes, apply them through CI/CD pipelines and detect drift.
Build self-service database provisioning for product teams.
Plan and execute migrations, upgrades and table moves with zero or near-zero downtime, including cross-version, cross-cluster and cross-cloud work.
Partner with developers on schema changes, queries, connection pooling, transaction scope, retries and expand-and-contract migrations.
Define SLOs and build SLO-based alerts and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana or similar tools.
Design backup and recovery, and verify them through scheduled restore and failover tests measuring RTO and RPO and producing evidence for auditors.
Right-size instances and storage, and choose the least expensive option that meets requirements.
Secure data with least-privilege access, secrets from a secrets manager, encryption at rest and in transit, audited access and PII masking.
Lead and participate in incident response and on-call; write blameless post-mortems and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
Replace manual runbooks with automation and document what remains.
