Valuation Control Business Analyst

Our client is a leading global financial services organisation operating in Poland with multiple business divisions, including Global Markets. They focus on managing complex financial instruments, trading operations, and maintaining high standards of financial control, governance, and risk management in compliance with international accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role is part of the Product Control team in Kraków, overseeing a system migration project and valuation control processes.

• University degree in finance, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering or similar discipline.
• Excellent understanding of financial instruments, valuation techniques, and fair value adjustment frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of VBA, Access, and SQL preferred.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders across business functions.
• Demonstrated project management experience managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with ambition and drive.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

• CFA or FRM qualification.

• Lead a strategic system migration project for an equity desk, coordinating across multiple business functions with robust controls.
• Manage fair value adjustments, independent price verification, and valuation processes within a global financial organisation.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across Product Control, Front Office, IT, Operations, and Quantitative Analytics.
• Develop and improve valuation methodologies and control frameworks, providing management information to global committees.
• Implement process improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiency in the valuation control function.
• Manage the complete project lifecycle including planning, stakeholder alignment, delivery tracking, issue and risk management, and governance updates.
• Assess migration impact on data flows, pricing, controls, and reporting.
• Oversee prudent valuation assessments and fair value levelling documentation.
• Monitor valuation model restrictions and collaborate on profit and loss and balance sheet reporting.
