Software Engineering & DevOps Centre of Excellence Lead

Falck Digital Technology Poland Sp. z o.o. is hiring a Centre of Excellence Lead responsible for leading software engineering and DevOps practices within the CTO Area. The role oversees standards and operational implementation for software development, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and software supply chain automation, supporting various delivery teams.

• Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Practical experience in software development technologies, especially Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Familiarity with security scanning tools including SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Practical knowledge of object-oriented, architectural, and integration design patterns.
• Experience with microservices architecture and deployment patterns.
• Experience leveraging relational and NoSQL database management systems.
• Practical experience using AI in software development tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on root cause identification and solution implementation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks ensuring timely project delivery.
• Strategic thinking and decision-making aligned with team and organizational goals.
• Experience as Software Engineer involved in design, implementation, and maintenance of diverse applications.
• Experience as DevOps Engineer or similar role focusing on CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure management.
• Experience leading practice standards and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog and ELK Stack.
• Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.

Nice to have:

• Relevant coursework or specialized training in software engineering, cloud, project management, or leadership.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator.
• Membership in professional organizations for networking and industry updates.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, scripting, PowerShell, Bash, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, SAST, DAST, microservices, AI, degree, project management, networking.

Centre of Excellence Leadership:

• Provide methods and streamline the SDLC, including assessing external tools and developing in-house shared tools.
• Promote software development standards and participate in hands-on engagement and peer reviews.
• Help solve complex cross-team challenges and promote shared learning and best practices.
• Actively participate in delivery (product) team activities.

Technical and Operational Responsibilities:

• Define standards and blueprints for cloud and hybrid application landscapes.
• Support development teams in delivering scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Define, maintain, and improve the SDLC.
• Evaluate and facilitate adoption of new technologies, contribute to in-house tools.
• Implement and manage IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform and Bicep.
• Collaborate with operations teams on product deployment processes.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Improve operational efficiency via build and deployment automation and promote software monitoring.
• Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex development and infrastructure issues, especially cross-team challenges.
• Engage software and DevOps engineers in developing company-wide standards and practices.
• Manage vendor cooperation and contracts regarding new features.
• Cooperate with the CISO team on application security and ISO compliance, integrating security testing (SAST, DAST) into CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to software and DevOps engineer groups.
• Drive continuous improvement within the Software Engineering and DevOps practice.
