Engineering Manager

Digital Zone started as an online platform providing digital vouchers and direct top ups, and was acquired by Qi Card in 2022 to innovate and support fintech solutions within the SuperQi super app. The company operates in the Middle East and delivers services including mobile top ups, event tickets, travel bookings, and hotel reservations via its app available on iOS and Android.

• 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Direct experience building or operating online stock trading, brokerage, or capital markets systems with production shipping of order management, execution, market data, or settlement.
• Working fluency in trading domain concepts: order types, market data feeds, clearing, settlement, corporate actions, auditing.
• Strong technical judgment in architecture reviews and latency tradeoffs; familiar with TypeScript, Go, Postgres, and AWS/private cloud.
• Experience collaborating with compliance and risk teams in regulated financial products.
• Ability to deliver greenfield products quickly without compromising correctness and controls.

Nice to have:

• Experience launching retail trading or investing products from zero.
• Exposure to FIX protocol or exchange and broker connectivity.
• MENA or emerging-market financial services experience including local regulatory contexts.

• Build and lead the trading engineering team from the ground up: hire, mentor, and grow engineers.
• Own the technical strategy and architecture for the trading platform, including order lifecycle, market data ingestion, positions, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Drive broker, exchange, and market data integrations and connectivity decisions.
• Ensure reliability and correctness under market conditions, managing latency, capacity, idempotency, and reconciliation.
• Partner with product, compliance, risk, and finance to integrate regulatory, KYC, AML, and audit requirements.
• Establish rigorous engineering practices: testing, controlled releases, incident response, and audit-grade observability.
