Quality Assurance Lead

Intent has over 10+ years of experience in helping to conceptualize, design and build apps for connected devices and IoT. They act as specialized think partners for products at the intersection of physical and digital, from net-new to products looking to enter a competitive and established niche. Their team has a proven track record of building and deploying groundbreaking digital products, quickly assembling and scaling project teams with developers, hardware/firmware/software engineers, QA specialists, UX, UI, and Project Managers. Some clients include Oura, BOSE, and McIntosh audio systems.

• At least 6 years of software testing experience, ideally in mobile and IoT projects.
• At least 2 years of QA team leadership with ownership of testing practices.
• Hands-on test case management with Qase or TestRail and experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Manual and automated testing experience with Cypress, Appium, Postman, and Robot Framework.
• Strong understanding of BLE, API testing, AWS, and Firebase.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• English at B2+ level, written and spoken.
• Leadership, initiative, ownership and clear communication.

Nice to have:

• Hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
• Experience scaling QA practices in a software house or product company.
• Knowledge of MQTT, NFC, Wi-Fi, or Thread.
• ISTQB Advanced or higher.

• Plan, design and execute testing strategies for mobile and IoT products.
• Lead and mentor the QA team, guide test design and run knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Introduce QA tools and practices, including test automation and CI/CD integration.
• Define quality metrics and improve testing efficiency.
• Work with the CTO on QA direction and collaborate with developers, PMs and clients on acceptance criteria and coverage.
• Oversee compatibility, functional, integration, E2E, automated, performance, security and regression testing.
• Own quality work from BLE signal capture through cloud data validation.
• Use AI tools in daily QA work.
