Mobile Developer (BLE || Flutter / iOS / Android || freelance)

intent has been designing and co-creating connected devices since 2008. They work on wearables, smart audio, and health-tech hardware for clients like Oura and BOSE, supported by investors such as a16z and Founders Fund. The company has 60+ people, operates fully remotely, and has been AI-native prior to the popularization of the term. Most projects are long-term partnerships, focusing on solid relationships with clients and teams.

• 5+ years as a Mobile Developer
• Strong hands-on experience with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
• Proficiency in Flutter and at least one native platform: iOS with Swift or Android with Kotlin
• Experience with connected products involving device pairing and real-time data streaming
• Comfortable working in short sprints (1-2 weeks) in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with teammates and clients
• English proficiency at B2+ level, both written and spoken
• Focus on product quality and user experience beyond just shipping
• Independence and ownership with proactive risk flagging

Nice to have:

• Direct experience collaborating with firmware teams
• Experience in medical devices or regulated environments
• Knowledge of testing strategies for BLE flows
• Experience with OTA updates or provisioning flows
• Genuine curiosity about devices beyond the software code

• Own the mobile side of connected-product projects (wearables, smart sensors, health-tech devices)
• Design and implement BLE communication flows that function reliably in real-world scenarios
• Debug real-world device interactions, including unique or edge cases
• Work closely with firmware engineers, backend developers, designers, QA, and project managers
• Contribute to architectural and technical decisions
• Communicate directly with clients without intermediary layers of management
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows effectively
