Staff Software Engineer (iOS)

The company is one of the largest out of home delivery providers in Europe focused on sustainable and efficient delivery solutions. The role is part of a team building the best FMCG e-commerce platform in Poland, offering over 300,000 products and serving nearly 1.5 million mobile users in Poland.

Must have:

• 8+ years production experience with iOS.
• Experience at staff or principal level across multiple teams or technical lead of iOS platform/projects.
• Proven record of shipping a single codebase across multiple markets or brands with variant, configuration, and release complexity.
• Expertise in mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, SOLID, unidirectional and composable architectures, including Apple's own or TCA.
• Experience with modularisation including feature extraction from monoliths, publishing architecture, onboarding domains, and shared code ownership.
• Deep knowledge of Swift, modern concurrency such as async/await, structured concurrency, actors, Sendable, cancellation, and experience introducing Swift 6 strict concurrency.
• Deep understanding of UIKit and SwiftUI, including proven incremental migration between them.
• Strong understanding of data layers, databases, and migration processes.
• Mobile security knowledge including SSL pinning, App Attest, App Check, DeviceCheck, OAuth, Keychain, and secrets management.
• Proficiency with dependency and build systems including SPM, CocoaPods, hybrid setups, and vendor-locked SDKs.
• Experience authoring ADRs, RFCs, and technical proposals, defining quality gates and testing policies.
• Strong business judgement to prioritize technical debt and deliver roadmaps.
• Whole-problem thinking including product intent, process, and full software development lifecycle involvement.
• Advanced AI-assisted engineering experience (Claude, Copilot, Grok) is a strong plus.
• Mentorship skills for senior engineers and cross-discipline partnership with Android, backend, and QA staff engineers.

Strongly desired:

• CI/CD and release automation experience including GitLab CI, Fastlane, TestFlight with quality gates.
• Experience with macOS CI infrastructure.
• Handling appearance and orientation migrations (e.g., portrait to landscape, adaptive layouts).
• Test strategy expertise including XCTest, Swift Testing, snapshot testing, UI test architecture, and flaky-test control.
• Observability with crash reporting, MetricKit, and performance budgets.
• Experience with design systems and accessibility compliance.

Nice to have:

• Apple Watch and watchOS including companion apps and complications.
• CarPlay, App Clips, notification, and app extensions.
• Code generation tools such as SwiftGen, Sourcery.
• Payments or fintech SDK integration.
• Performance profiling with Instruments, metrics, and tracing.
• Familiarity with the Android ecosystem.

• Set iOS technical direction across several mobile teams.
• Work across domain boundaries with product, backend, platform, QA, and other mobile disciplines.
• Own the decisions that every team's code must adhere to.
• Publish architecture, onboarding other domains, and define ownership and review rules for shared code.
• Circulate Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), RFCs, and technical proposals beyond the team.
• Mentor senior engineers, mediate technical disagreements, build consensus, and review standards for performance and security.
• Collaborate closely with Staff engineers in other disciplines across the domain such as Android, backend, and QA.
