Test Automation Engineer - Senior

SOFTSWISS is hiring a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join their Data Platform team within the Data Office department, working closely with Data Engineers and QA Engineers.

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance
• Strong understanding of test design techniques to ensure optimal test coverage
• Solid knowledge of any programming language: Java, C#, Python, or Typescript
• Strong understanding of SQL including ability to write complex queries (joins, aggregations, groupings) for data validation
• Professional experience with Spark and Spark SQL (jobs, DataFrames/Datasets, data querying)
• Experience with Delta Lake or any of its implementations
• Understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) concepts and hands-on experience with frameworks like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar
• Strong knowledge of Git (branching, merging, rebasing, resolving conflicts)
• Good understanding of containerization (running, inspecting, troubleshooting)
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) or specialized QA agents
• Proactive communication skills with B1+ proficiency in both English and Russian
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for data discrepancies

Nice to have:

• Basic knowledge of Scala programming language
• Experience with Apache Airflow
• Basic experience with Apache Kafka for testing event-driven systems
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), including interpreting pipeline failures
• Ability to write and interpret Bash scripts for automation and environment setup
• Familiarity with AI Agents, Skills, and MCP, and integrating AI capabilities into testing workflows

• Work effectively within a fully agile environment, collaborating with senior engineers and owning tasks independently
• Review and analyze business requirements and technical specifications collaboratively with BAs and developers to ensure testability and early bug prevention
• Perform comprehensive testing of new features including manual testing and development of automated scenarios with Gherkin syntax using the existing automation framework
• Create and maintain appropriate QA documentation for the team
• Collaborate with other products regarding functionality of implemented solutions
