Engineering Manager, Big Data

Adform operates in the data domain with a Big Data Group responsible for processing, storing, and delivering meaningful information within the Adform Flow product and to external clients. The group builds microservices handling real-time data across domains such as DMP, Reporting, Algo, and Research.

• Proven leadership experience managing backend or cross-functional engineering teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with product and business stakeholders
• Experience in project delivery using agile practices, prioritisation, and balancing short- vs. long-term goals
• Ability to mentor and grow engineers fostering career development and high performance
• Solid understanding of engineering best practices
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills balancing technical depth and business impact
• Track record in operational excellence regarding performance, reliability, and incident management
• Technical background in backend engineering, distributed systems, or Big Data
• Understanding of Big Data and cloud technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, Vertica, or public cloud platforms
• Experience working in AdTech or other data-intensive technology domains
• Experience leading technically strong engineering teams and promoting ownership and continuous improvement

• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Plan, prioritise, and oversee execution of backend projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Work closely with product owners, development teams, and architects to achieve business goals
• Own system reliability, performance, monitoring, and drive incident management and root-cause analysis
• Continuously refine team processes (agile, CI/CD, testing) to boost productivity and quality
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical trade-offs effectively with leadership and non-technical stakeholders
• Support and challenge the team in making architectural and design decisions to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable
