Release Manager

Hitachi Energy is recruiting for a Release Manager to support the R&D Product Development Program, coordinating activities for the Enterprise Software R&D team and partnering with project stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment).
• Minimum of 10 years experience in project management or equivalent role leading cross-functional teams in a development environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and programs.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies and software release process requirements.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.

• Manage documentation requirements and facilitate quality reviews and approvals for internal and customer-facing project documentation.
• Support JIEMS software development projects end-to-end, aligning to project requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints.
• Assist in program planning and execution across the SDLC stages including requirements, design, build, test, security reviews, and release.
• Create and manage product branching strategies jointly with R&D release management stakeholders.
• Partner with R&D functional leaders to facilitate timely decision-making and conflict resolution to keep deliverables on track.
• Provide support for status and KPI reporting, change control, and quality requirements using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.
• Support collaborations regarding scope prioritization tradeoffs and sequencing to meet committed delivery dates.
• Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate program risks and issues (technical, schedule, security, compliance), escalating with options and recommendations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through retrospectives, root-cause analysis, and workflow optimization to increase delivery predictability, reduce defects, and improve team effectiveness.
