R&D Senior Software Developer (C++, C#)

Hitachi Energy develops software for critical infrastructure and real-time power grid automation, focusing on efficiency, security, and long product lifecycles.

• Degree in computer science/engineering or other relevant education
• 5 years of experience as Senior Developer or Technical Lead
• Proven programming experience in C++ and C#
• Ability to read and understand Fortran code is a plus
• Practitioner using AI tools to improve development efficiency
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux
• Experience in software optimization and improving performance
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
• Flexible communication skills and sense of humor, team player
• Passion for technology and willingness to share knowledge
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Develop state of the art technology for power grids as technical leadership of a small, collocated development team
• Design and develop code to achieve business goals
• Work on general technology stack recommendations, product/solution security, and future solutions' architecture
• Assure high code quality through unit tests and adherence to software development best practices like Clean Code, SOLID, and code reviews
• Work in an agile environment
• Improve technical skills and knowledge of the project's business domain
• Collaborate globally with people and customers worldwide
