Senior Business Analyst Consultant (retail banking)

GFT Poland is expanding its Business Consulting team in Poland, focusing on banking transformation and technology programs in Poland, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Western Europe, with a main focus on Retail Banking products and customer journeys.

• Typically 5+ years of relevant commercial experience in business analysis or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience as Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Product-oriented Business Analyst.
• Proven experience in banking or financial services.
• Good understanding of banking products, processes, and operating models.
• Experience in at least one Retail Banking area such as payments, cards, deposits/accounts, onboarding/KYC, lending/credit, or digital banking.
• Ability to independently manage an analysis workstream and deliver high-quality outputs.
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
• Confidence working directly with clients and presenting recommendations.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear next steps.
• Very good English and strong communication skills.
• Experience working with technology and delivery teams in Agile environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience in multiple Retail Banking product areas.
• Core banking transformation or migration experience.
• Knowledge of platforms such as Thought Machine, Mambu, Flexcube, Temenos/T24 or similar.
• API, integration, and data-modelling awareness.
• Experience with BPMN / UML.
• SQL skills sufficient to support analysis.
• Product Owner or product discovery experience.
• Consulting experience.
• Experience with international banking clients, especially in CEE or the Middle East.
• Practical experience using generative AI in business analysis or software delivery.

• Lead business analysis for a product, domain, or major workstream end-to-end.
• Work directly with client business, product, technology, and architecture stakeholders.
• Gather, analyse, and structure business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into processes, capabilities, user stories, acceptance criteria, and analysis outputs.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
• Analyse current-state products, processes, and customer journeys; help define future-state solutions.
• Challenge requirements and solution assumptions to improve business outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, developers, testers, and delivery teams.
• Support scope definition, prioritisation, estimates, and solution options.
• Identify delivery, design, and dependency risks early and actively drive resolution.
• Review analysis deliverables and maintain quality standards.
• Support and mentor less experienced analysts.
• Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, analysis, requirements work, and knowledge synthesis.
