Safety Architect

The Embedded Engineering Capability team works on a Software-Defined Vehicle platform that unifies Linux, Android, QNX, AUTOSAR, and Adaptive AUTOSAR within a single developer ecosystem, supporting innovation in ADAS and Infotainment solutions.

• 7+ years of experience in software safety architecture, functional safety engineering, or a similar role.
• Deep understanding of ISO 26262, particularly Part 6 (Software Level) and Part 4 (System-Level Development).
• Hands-on experience with safety-relevant SoC platforms and hardware safety features such as MPU/MMU, ECC, lockstep cores.
• Experience with hypervisor-based architectures including QNX Hypervisor, Xen, or similar solutions in safety-critical or mixed-criticality environments.
• Strong low-level software background covering bootloaders, bare-metal development, RTOS environments, or operating system internals.
• Ability to translate system-level safety requirements into practical software solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience with automotive virtualization platforms and multi-domain vehicle architectures.
• Involvement in software safety analyses, reviews, and compliance activities.
• Knowledge of Linux-, AUTOSAR-, or Adaptive AUTOSAR-based embedded platforms.

• Define and maintain the software safety architecture for a complex SoC software platform, including low-level software components, hypervisor integration, bootloaders, and operating system layers.
• Derive and allocate safety requirements from system level down to software components.
• Support continuous improvement of safety-related processes and solutions.
• Design and implement safety mechanisms supporting freedom from interference (FFI) across partitions, processor cores, and privilege levels.
• Own the software safety architecture within hypervisor-based virtualization environments, including QNX Hypervisor integrations.
• Drive ongoing development of scalable safety concepts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on hardware-software interfaces, safe boot processes, integrity verification, startup and shutdown sequences, and safety analyses.
• Continuously enhance platform reliability and compliance.
