Senior QA Automation Engineer

• 5+ years experience in software quality assurance and test automation with ownership of complex automation solutions.
• Proven experience designing or improving a test automation framework.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: framework architecture, design patterns, CI/CD integration, test data management, API testing, or flaky test prevention.
• Experience mentoring or technically supporting other QA or automation engineers.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, including designing maintainable automation architecture.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs: chaining requests, handling authentication, validating responses and schemas.
• Experience designing automated quality gates and integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience diagnosing and preventing flaky tests, test-environment issues, and pipeline failures.
• Experience with test data management and test-environment setup.
• Experience conducting automation code reviews and improving code quality.
• Everyday use of AI-assisted tools in development and testing, with ability to spot problems in AI-generated code.
• Experience building reliable test suites with telemetry, retry logic, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of testing principles including test layers, risk-based testing, exploratory, regression testing, and coverage analysis.
• Hands-on experience with exploratory and manual testing.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, Product, Design, and other stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives.

• Experience with Golang-based backend services and troubleshooting distributed applications.
• Experience building or maintaining automation for backend-heavy systems.

• Own and drive test automation strategy within your area, balancing risk, coverage, execution time, and maintenance costs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated tests across appropriate layers of the testing pyramid, focusing on end-to-end testing.
• Define the right balance between automated and manual testing, including exploratory and smoke testing.
• Analyze requirements, architecture, and product risks to identify quality gaps and improve testability early.
• Own and evolve the E2E automation framework, making architecture decisions that ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript, including API testing and API-driven test scenarios.
• Design and maintain quality gates in CI/CD pipelines with reliable execution and fast feedback.
• Proactively identify and eliminate flaky tests, unstable environments, and pipeline issues.
• Define and maintain effective test data management practices.
• Conduct automation code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to automation frameworks and quality processes.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Product Managers, and QA Engineers.
• Mentor less experienced QA engineers and support recruitment activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing frameworks, tooling, engineering practices, and quality processes across the team.
