Mobile Staff Product Engineer, Platform/Infrastructure (all genders)

HelloFresh's global technology organization, HelloTech, with over 1000 people, builds digital products powering end-to-end food experiences including meal kits, ready-to-eat meals, pet food, and premium meat & seafood. HelloTech creates platforms for subscription-based, direct-to-consumer food solutions serving millions monthly through shared platforms, data, and operational excellence.

• Hands-on experience working with AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual use.
• Deep, production-tested expertise in React Native, with strong knowledge of both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin).
• Understanding of React Native internals, performance profiling, native bridging, platform specifics, and app store release processes.
• Experience using AI coding agents for context engineering, specification structuring, and producing reliable outputs.
• Proven track record managing and optimizing workflows, linting, caching, and build time for large engineering organizations (50+ developers).
• Experience managing complex build configurations, white-label scaling, and monorepo architectures.
• Comfortable with high autonomy and accountability, making sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations, supporting complex production incidents.
• Deep mobile engineering expertise including app release cycles, test automation, on-device performance, and platform UX conventions.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams through communication and collaboration.
• Strong product sense, data-driven decision making, and commitment to ownership and shipping complete solutions.

• Shape architectural direction and execute the React Native migration from brownfield to Greenfield within a white-labeled multi-brand app ecosystem.
• Design and evolve scalable infrastructure and developer experience for concurrent development across multiple squads.
• Maintain and scale the monorepo to host shared npm packages for cross-platform code sharing.
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Bitrise and plan migration to Expo.
• Build tracing and dashboards in Honeycomb to enable data-informed decisions.
• Establish and scale end-to-end testing frameworks organization-wide using Maestro.
• Provide architectural guidance and promote best engineering practices across squads by collaborating with Engineering Managers and Product stakeholders.
• Lead technical efforts to improve application health, reliability, and operational guardrails.
• Facilitate architectural decision-making with appropriate documentation including design proposals, RFCs, and ADRs.
• Own app experience metrics reflecting mobile customer quality such as retention, crash-free sessions, and conversion.
• Work beyond specialization when demanded by the problem.
• Operate and monitor systems in production, treating shipping as the start of the learning cycle.
