Engineering Manager - Fintech Engineering (m/f/n)

InPost Pay is building its own fintech platform from the ground up as a large-scale, international initiative. The company is establishing a lean, highly effective engineering organization in Poland with AI-native engineering at its core.

Must have:

• 7+ years of experience in backend software development.
• 2+ years of experience in people leadership (direct management of engineers).
• 2+ years of experience in the payments or fintech product domain.
• Very good command of English (B2+) in speech and writing.
• Strong technical credibility with active engagement in architecture and code review.
• Experience in delivery management: sprint planning, dependency tracking, risk management, and DORA metrics.
• Product co-ownership mindset with experience shaping roadmaps and backlogs alongside Product Management.
• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and large language models (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly.
• Data-driven management approach using metrics such as cycle time, deployment frequency, defect rates, and team health.
• Direct and clear communication style with stakeholders including senior leadership.

Nice to have:

• Experience in platform or infrastructure team management.
• Exposure to OKR and goal-setting frameworks for engineering teams.
• Familiarity with compensation and leveling frameworks.
• Experience designing engineering culture in agentic/AI-native environments.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Lead and develop the team by hiring, onboarding, and mentoring 4–5 senior engineers, ensuring high engineering quality through regular 1:1s, growth planning, and performance management.
• Co-author the product roadmap in partnership with Product Management, incorporating engineering constraints and opportunities into quarterly planning.
• Own delivery end-to-end, including sprint planning, dependency mapping, risk identification, and stakeholder expectation management.
• Provide technical leadership by upholding code review culture, testing standards, and architectural direction with the Staff Engineer.
• Drive an AI-first, agentic team culture by embedding agentic tools into workflows, enforcing harness adoption, and tracking delivery metrics such as DORA and cycle time.
• Own incident response for the team's domain, leading post-mortems and remediation to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
