Senior Engineering Manager - Fintech Engineering (m/f/n)

InPost Pay is building its own fintech platform from the ground up as a large-scale international initiative. The company is establishing a lean, highly effective engineering organization in Poland, focusing on AI-native engineering.

• 10+ years of experience in backend software engineering and technology leadership, including 2+ years managing Engineering Managers within a multi-team organization.
• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in large-scale product organizations.
• Strong organizational design experience: team topology, headcount planning, scaling without coordination overhead (2+ years).
• Proven ability to build and execute multi-quarter, area-level strategic roadmaps that integrate product, architecture, and operations.
• Strong cross-functional leadership with product, design, data, compliance, and finance stakeholders.
• Excellent executive communication skills for VP and C-suite audiences.
• Technical credibility to engage in architecture reviews and risk assessments with Staff Engineers.
• Experience driving AI-first and agentic engineering practices, including harness adoption and data emission discipline.
• Solid command of delivery metrics at area level: DORA, OKRs, team health, business outcome tracking.
• English proficiency minimum B2; Polish language skills are a plus.

Nice to have:

• Leadership experience in FinTech or regulated product domains (3+ years).
• Multi-market or multi-country engineering leadership experience (1+ years).
• Familiarity with FinTech regulatory landscape (PSD2, GDPR, credit regulation) at strategic level.
• Experience with board- or investor-level engineering reporting.
• M&A or technical integration experience.
• Experience managing multi-market regulatory complexity.

• Define and own the multi-quarter engineering strategy: architecture evolution, team topology, capability building, and technical risk management.
• Lead 2–3 Engineering Managers overseeing 8–20 engineers, developing leadership, accountability, and team collaboration.
• Combine product direction, architectural input, and operational insights into an executable area strategy.
• Define organizational structures: team boundaries, headcount planning, hiring strategy, and role definitions.
• Represent engineering to VP and C-level leadership with technical credibility and commercial framing.
• Drive an AI-first engineering culture: harness adoption, agentic operations, and data emission discipline.
• Partner with Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to align strategy and drive outcomes.
• Manage cross-team dependencies ensuring high-quality delivery at scale.
